Pauline Gondwe – Advocating for Accessible Cash Transfers in Masasa

" Pauline, a mother of two with physical challenge, struggled to access social cash transfers. With training from MZUDO, she became a disability rights advocate in Masasa. Her efforts led to the inclusion of sign language interpreters during SCTP registration, and she now supports other women with disabilities to enroll in the program. "

Esnart Nkambule – From Excluded to Empowered in Nkhorongo

Living in Nkhorongo, Esnart was often left out of disaster preparedness meetings. After joining MZUDO’s climate inclusion project, she was trained in community risk mapping and contributed to developing accessible early warning messages. Her voice helped shape local disaster plans to include women with disabilities for the first time.

Myness Ziba – A Voice for Equity in Dunduzu

Myness, a woman with hearing problem from Dunduzu, raised awareness about the extra costs women with disabilities face—like transport and assistive needs—when accessing cash transfer programs. After engaging in advocacy with MZUDO, she was invited to speak at a council forum, where her story influenced the district to consider these extra costs in targeting criteria. .

Eneless Mbewe – Leading Climate Talks in Chiwavi

Eneless, who uses a wheelchair, now leads local discussions on climate resilience in Chiwavi. Through MZUDO’s training, she gained skills to facilitate dialogues with city council representatives. Her leadership resulted in OPD representatives being added to the ward disaster committee, where she continues to push for disability-inclusive climate budgeting.

Esther Ndavu – Securing Inclusion Through Cash Transfers in Jombo

Esther, woman with albinism from Jombo, faced repeated exclusion from the Social Cash Transfer Program. With MZUDO’s help, she was trained to document cases of exclusion and shared her story during a policy dialogue. As a result, Esther was enrolled in the program and now helps others submit appeals and advocate for fair targeting in her community.
