Advocacy in Climate Change

At MZUDO, advocating for the inclusion of women and girls with disabilities in climate change actions and policies is part of our daily work. We believe that no climate response is complete without the voices and experiences of persons with disabilities. Every day, our team engages with community leaders, government departments, and partners to: Promote disability-inclusive climate policies and disaster risk planning Raise awareness on how climate change disproportionately affects women with disabilities Support women and girls with disabilities to take leadership roles in environmental action Ensure that climate-related communications and early warning systems are accessible to all, including those with visual, hearing, and mobility impairments Document and share lived experiences to influence local and national climate strategies Through ongoing dialogue, training, and monitoring of district-level climate planning, MZUDO works to make sure that climate justice is inclusive, accessible, and locally driven. "Our daily advocacy ensures that women and girls with disabilities are not only protected from climate disasters—but are also leading solutions."
