MZUDO works with health facilities to reduce discrimination, promote sexual and reproductive health rights, ensure disability-friendly infrastructure, and train healthcare workers in inclusive practices for better service delivery.
MZUDO ensures women and girls with disabilities are not left behind in climate change actions. It promotes inclusive climate adaptation strategies, accessible disaster risk reduction efforts, and participation in environmental decision-making. The organization empowers them to become climate champions and protect their communities while building resilience to environmental shocks.
Mzuzu Disability Organization conducts and supports inclusive research to inform disability-inclusive policies and programs. It prioritizes participatory research involving women and girls with disabilities to generate data that reflects their experiences, challenges, and needs, ensuring that evidence-based interventions are equitable, effective, and responsive to their realities.
MZUDO promotes inclusive education by advocating for accessible school environments, disability-friendly teaching materials, and teacher training. Upcoming activities
Advocacy meetings will be conducted with the District Council, Department of Climate Change, and Department of Disaster Management Affairs to establish accessible platforms for OPDs to actively participate in and influence climate change decisions in the district. These meetings will promote inclusive engagement and ensure that the voices of women and girls with disabilities are reflected.

Mzuzu, Malawi — Mzuzu Disability Organization (MZUDO) is set to begin the second phase of its flagship project “Inclusion of Women and Girls with Disabilities in Climate Change Actions and Policies” starting July 26, 2025.
Mzuzu Disability Organization (MZUDO) is inviting applications from qualified and passionate individuals to join our team as we implement the second phase of the project “Inclusion of Women and Girls with Disabilities in Climate Change Actions and Policies”, funded by the Disability Rights Fund (DRF).
The long-awaited Persons with Disabilities Act was passed by Parliament in December 2023, gazetted in April 2024, and is now being put into action. This marks a major milestone in Malawi’s legal framework, strengthening the protection and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities across the country.Mzuzu Disability Organization is proud of this development
